The final 2015 academic workshop for the teacher interns took place at the High Performance Centre in Pretoria from 25 – 27 September 2015.

This workshop focused intensively on academic tuition and intervention and launched the use of parallel sessions to maximise academic time while optimising the choices available to the attendees. This change was well-received and the additional flexibility afforded by such a programme design also allowed for informal study groups to form and for the collegial sharing of ideas and assistance to remain the norm.

In addition to educational sessions, the workshop made provision for practical presentations on fiscal responsibility, contractual obligations and the challenges of distance learning and also offered a select number of inspirational presentations on leadership, professionalism in the workplace and overcoming adversity and one’s own mistakes in order to continue creating a successful life.
